About Denise Stephenson
Isolation grew out of my concerns with the increasing death tolls from tainted crops, the decreased effectiveness of antibiotics, and the growing use of bacteria killing hand sanitizers. Isolation explores what might happen if the balance shifted further in the human/bacteria equation of life and death.
As a college Writing Center Director and a PhD in American Studies, my publishing history has included over 20 academic articles and book chapters. I've written a dozen monologues and short plays for Attention Deficit Drama and CSUCI. This is my first novel.
I've also been a book artist. I love paper and sculpting shapes out of it. I love to collaborate with other writers and artists, yet getting form and function to cooperate is challenging. My one big success has been What She Said.

I was fortunate enough to read a preview copy of Isolation and I have to say it is a timely and thought provoking, if not haunting, look into the future.
